Somewhat Hidden History

Team Members Katie Thornton Somewhat Hidden History is a collaboration between amateur historians and media producers in the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota designed to bring local history to life in ways beautiful, engaging, and accessible to the general public. The project works to fill a void for both the producers and the consumers of the goods created, as Somewhat Hidden History will both provide amateur historians a means to get their work published and distributed (a possibility rarely available to those outside of the academy), as well as create an opportunity for local residents to learn about their city’s pasts in exciting, sensory, and understandable ways. Through the production podcasts, pamphlets, and miniature books, SHH will encourage the collaborative production of relevant and grounded history, made accessible to residents through distribution in local shops and public spaces at affordable prices. Samaritan Sessions

Samaritan Sessions

Team Members Daniel Markus The Samaritan Sessions is the first and only live session series in the world with a mission of philanthropy. A nationally touring band or artist is paired with a sponsoring charity for each session. After being recorded, sessions are uploaded online and each can be downloaded for a donation of $3 or more to its charity sponsor. By pairing bands and charities, each has access to a larger, unified audience, allowing them to gain new fans and patrons, while creating partnership opportunities for future growth together. Using the power of music and social media, our goal is to introduce the world to great music, while helping great charities make the world a better place, one song at a time.
