Rod Hsiao is the Founder and CEO of InPlay, a start-up nonprofit that is building an online directory to connect families with after-school and summer programs. Through-out his career, he has sought to build vibrant, sustainable communities through public-private partnerships. He worked in economic development research at Harvard and Yale, then served as a senior legislative advisor in the U.S. Congress on international development and domestic policies. Subsequently he worked in management consulting before following his interest in education, where he has served as a senior manager of educational nonprofits and as an elected Trustee to the San Mateo County Board of Education. He has a B.A. in Economics from Oberlin College and a Masters in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. In his free time, he fights evil villains with his wife and two young sons, and bikes the hills around San Mateo, CA.
