Maya Wergeles ’16
Maya Wergeles is a third year from Santa Monica, California, majoring in Politics and minoring in Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies. She is a co-founder and workshop facilitator for the newly established Bystander Intervention Training module of Preventing and Responding to Sexual Misconduct, or PRSM. In addition to her work with PRSM, she is staff member at the Sexual Information Center, an HIV Peer Tester, and a desk attendant at the Wilder Information Desk. When away from Oberlin, Maya has continued to dedicate herself to issues surrounding sexual health and sexualized violence prevention, as a Public Policy intern with the Planned Parenthood Federation of America in Washington, DC, and as an intern with Madrid’s Center for Contraception and Sexuality for Youth. After Oberlin, Maya hopes to continue to work in the field of sexual health and violence prevention.
