Katie Thornton is from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and has a passion for local history. While at Oberlin she has pursued a history major, doing most of her major research on Minnesota historical events, spaces, and memorials. She currently works for the Office of Communications and at WOBC, Oberlin College and Community Radio. She has been involved with WOBC, since her freshman year, hosting a radio show every Wednesday she has been on campus, and currently serves as Program Director. She hopes to operate a radio station/youth concert venue/legal hotline/B&B in the future. Until then, she plans to move back to Minneapolis and pursue work in radio or public history, and engage her other passions of playing music and petting her cat.
