Jason Williams, Founder Get With the Program

Raised without parental guidance, Jason Williams envisioned a world beyond poverty, violence, and dysfunction. His vision was realized when he became the first person in his family to attend and ultimately graduate from college.

As a student-athlete at Oberlin College, Jason worked as a Resident Assistant for campus housing and maintained a full-time job while simultaneously serving as a care provider to his ailing grandparents. As such, being able to multitask and prioritize became essential to his success.

Through his Oberlin connections, namely his future wife and fellow OC alumni Arisa Otake ’06, Jason was presented with an opportunity to live and work in Tokyo, Japan. It was during this time he developed a love for technology.

Fast forward to 2014, he is now a husband and a father of two school-aged Japanese and African American children. After realizing the lack of STEM literature that catered to underrepresented groups, Jason wanted his children to have access to STEM-related material, enter: ‘Get with the Program.’

Despite numerous disadvantages in life, Jason never backs down from a challenge and always perseveres to the end. Those aforementioned qualities are the cornerstone of his character and business.
